Shibori is a Japanese resist-dyeing technique traditionally done using Indigo. While resist dyeing the intention is to resist the dye from colouring the whole fabric in order to create patterns. In Shibori, the fabric is folded in various geometrical shapes similar to origami and put together using elastic bands, clips, wood blocks, rope, wooden sticks etc. Anything that helps the resist will work. Be playful creating coincidental marks and shapes!
